The Journal of Construction and Built Environment (JCBE) is a galactic periodical dedicated to the discussing of innovations, processes and developments in the construction industry and their effects on the built environment. JCBE is an acronym for advanced knowledge in engineering, architecture, design and high quality, theoretical, analytical and empirical research produced by researchers, practitioners, industry specialist and all players in the construction and built environment industry.
JCBE is an interdisciplinary platform for critically engaging in topics encompassing the ancient and modern methods of materials management, building technology, engineering, information science, construction education, building economics, global supply chain networks, procurement and risk management, project integration and sustainability. JCBE is interested in high level research on all matters relevant to the enhancement of knowledge of construction and the built environment.
This journal is a manual for excellence in editing and publishing, offering flexible styles and different menus for articles, notes, comments, policy briefs, book reviews, multimedia content, technology updates and forecasts.
JCBE is vehicle of the Meta Engineering and Construction Corporation, providing an interdisciplinary platform for critically engaging in topics encompassing the ancient and modern methods of materials management, building technology, engineering, information science, construction education, building economics, global supply chain networks, procurement and risk management, project integration and sustainability.
Papers for consideration must meet three fundamental criteria:
(a) The motivation should be clear and compelling, typically including a clearly specified research question and a statement as to why this question is interesting. However, a paper whose primary motivation is to synthesise or even survey earlier work might also be publishable.
(b) The analysis should be correct and should be appropriately rigorous given the research question using the most up to date tools and methods.
(c)The research should be intelectually stilmuating, and advance the course of knowledge in the field of construction and the built environment and how that is linked to other sectors of the economy.

Editorial Policy
All submissions to the Journal of Construction and Built Environment (JCBE) go through a double-blind review process. This ensures that articles accepted for publication in the journal are in accord with high methodological standards involving the use of suitable research techniques, and in-depth analyses. All manuscripts are subjected to suitability check through an editorial pre-screening process. Full length articles, letters, brief communications, matters arising, technical reports, field notes, analysis, perspectives and insights are all peer reviewed. Correspondence and all forms of published correction may also be peer-reviewed at the discretion of the editors. Final responsibility for the selection and acceptance of articles rests with the Editors. Submission of an article to the journal indicates formal acceptance by the author(s) of the above peer review conditions and procedures.
Reviewer selection is critical to the publication process, and we base our choice on many factors, including but not limited to expertise, reputation, specific recommendations and our own previous experience of a reviewer's characteristics.
In general, to be acceptable, a paper should represent an advance in understanding likely to influence thinking in the construction and built environment industry, with strong evidence for their conclusions. There should be a discernible reason why the work deserves the visibility of publication in the JCBE.

The JCBE has a zero-tolerance policy to unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form. All manuscripts submitted for publication to the journal are cross-checked for plagiarism using ithenticate software. Manuscripts found to be plagiarized during initial stages of review are out-rightly rejected and not considered for publication in the journal. In case a manuscript is found to be plagiarized after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct preliminary investigation, may be with the help of a suitable committee constituted for the purpose. If the manuscript is found to be plagiarized beyond the acceptable limits, the paper would be retracted. We reserve the right to decline publication of a paper even after it has been accepted if it becomes apparent that there are serious problems with the scientific content or violations of our publishing policies.
